I am a husband.
I am a father.
I am a veteran.
I am an athlete.
I am a triple amputee.
I am Dave Watson.
I always knew I wanted join the army and, at the age of 18, I enrolled in the military. Following in my great grandad's footsteps I then went on to join the Scots Guards in 2007, during which time, I was fortunate enough to guard all the palaces and meet all the Royal family. I've even danced with the Queen! After three years of dignitaries, I then went to battalion when, in 2010, I was drafted to Afghanistan to begin a seven month campaign.
Three and a half months after my arrival, my life changed forever...
